At a young age, Bita and her family moved from Iran and planted their roots in Los Angeles, California. Bita’s passion for learning and teaching began to sprout, and she continued her education at UCLA, where she graduated with a B.A. in Sociology and Education.
After graduation, Bita was embracing the rewarding life of a full-time mom, when one alarming morning her three year old daughter woke up with a stubborn and persistent rash. After eight months of seeking conventional treatment from different Western Medicine doctors at the top hospitals in California, there was no change in Bita’s daughter’s condition. Bita was referred to Chinese Medicine by a friend, and, desperate to help her daughter, Bita scheduled an appointment with Dr. Mao of Tao of Wellness. The doctor sat down with Bita and her daughter and built a treatment plan that consisted of a change in diet and an incorporation of Chinese herbs. Within one month, Bita’s daughter’s rash was completely gone. Surprised by the response, Bita scheduled an appointment for her other daughter who suffered from cold-induced asthma. The doctor developed a different treatment plan that consisted of acupuncture treatments and a change in nutrition. This daughter, too, was completely healed and no longer experienced asthma attacks.
Bita witnessed firsthand the healing effects of Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, and nutrition and was eager to learn more about what helped her daughters. So, in 2007, she started studying Traditional Chinese Medicine at Yo San University.
In 2013, Bita graduated with a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Nutrition and became a California State Licensed Acupuncturist. Bita is so passionate about this true healing empowerment that she is currently continuing her education at Yo San University to pursue a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) with a specialty in Anti-Aging and Healthy Living.
Bita’s devotion to educate and help others continues to grow and evolve. Currently, Bita is a Yo San University faculty member, sees patients in her Los Angeles office, is a practicing Wellness Coach, and is a Certified Instructor teaching public and private classes of movement art forms: Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Meditation. Bita is also a recurrent Qi Gong instructor at Tao of Wellness Detox Retreats. Bita holds a special place for children and educates elementary age students about Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Tai Chi. She demonstrates a specific art-form move to the students and helps get them in touch with themselves and their feelings to better manage issues, such as test stress, anger, anxiety, restlessness, and hyperactivity.
With a strong focus on health and wellness of the whole person—physical, spiritual, and emotional—Bita specializes in male, female, and pediatric issues, such as hormonal and aging issues, insomnia, depression, anxiety, weight management, auto-immune disorders, digestive issues, and stress management.
Bita’s passion is to teach health and wellness of the mind, body, and spirit through movement-based arts, acupuncture, nutrition, and herbal medicine.
“My desire is for people to know that they have the power within themselves to be the best, healthiest, and highest version of themselves—physically, spiritually, and emotionally. It is never too late; you are never too old; and nothing is impossible.”
